The 45 Vastu Devtas
The Vastu Purusha Mandala assigns a Devta to each section of a property — a traditional quality that explains why different parts of a space are treated differently in Vastu.

The 45-Devta arrangement forms four layers around the central Brahma: the inner Deva Vithi and Manushya Vithi, and the outer Paishacha Vithi. Every pada within these layers has its own Devta.
To read this system: locate the property on the grid, identify the pada and its Devta, then let the room, entrance, or opening occupying that pada give the reading its practical context.
Brahma Vithi
1. Brahma occupies the central Brahmasthan — creation, balance, order, and the central life principle of the space. It's the reference point the entire grid is arranged around, so its openness, construction, weight and use get special attention. A large obstruction or heavy structure here calls for closer review.
Deva Vithi
The Deva Vithi surrounds Brahma directly — four Devtas representing the inner cardinal sections.
| # | Devta | Position | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | Bhudhar | North | Holding and support — stability, foundation, continuity |

| 5 | Mitra | West | Friendship, agreements, cooperation, trust |
Manushya Vithi
The next layer out — eight Devta positions between the inner core and the outer boundary.

Paishacha Vithi
The outer boundary — 32 Devta positions across East, South, West and North. These are especially useful for detailed analysis, since entrances, windows, walls and other openings map onto them directly.
